Pasta Factory with the ladies

This little man has my heart.
I love him more than words will ever be able to describe.
He was a hit with the ladies tonight...

Gentri and I had planned a blate over to Costa Vida a couple weeks ago, and today was going to be the day.  OOOH it sounded sooo good.  She even text me mid-day just letting me know how good it sounded and how excited she was.  Little did I know she was going to squash my heart!  Just kidding, but seriously.  We decided to go to The Pasta Factory with Shay and Courtney.  I'm glad we did!  All three of these girls were soo much fun.  I'm not much of a talker when I first meet people, but these girls were real easy to just talk to.  Although, I still didn't do majority of the talking, I felt a part of the group.  It's weird to be blogging about this now...ha ha.  Because now these ladies aren't bloggers to me.  They are people I actually know.  They are girls I hope I get to hang out with some more.  (Gentri and Shay, we should go see a MOVIE while Courtney is off in Hawaii.)  Because, well we know how much she loooooves movies!

So I just have to say again how much fun it was to get out with some girls tonight.  I haven't done that since my friend Lizzie came on over to spend the day with me from Vegas a couple months ago.  I couldn't have chosen a better group of ladies to spend the evening with.  I could go on and tell you that Shay is hilarious and I just looooved her sense of humor.  loved.it.  I could tell you that Gentri is so sweet and so nice and super cute with her new do!  And I could also tell you that Courtney is...ha ha.  I just thought of Courtney and what I could say and automatically thought of Iron Man contestants riding their bikes while the audience cheered them on...ba ha ha.  I want to go on a double date with Court and Eric to Dairy Queen. :)  Oh this summer is gonna be fuuuun if it involves more outings with these beautiful ladies.

I have to add on top of all this..
Corbin did so good.
so good.
I love him.

Thanks ladies for such a fun night!

photographs are worth a million

1. This was taken when Corbin had a really high fever.  We were playing on the floor, and he laid his head down and fell asleep.  First time he's ever done that.

2. Corbin fell asleep in dad's arms while daddy was sipping on his slurpee.

3. Eating his favorite meal, spaghetti

4. These are a pair of Corbin's new summer shorts

1. Walking to the car with daddy

2. Trying to learn how to color, while waiting at Grease Monkey for our oil change to finish up.

3.  Me and my favorite little man!

4. Just chillin

1. I love how Corbin's sleeve is like half way off of his shoulder.  He looks soo adorable.  Like, "this is my momma, and I love her."  melt.my.heart

2.  first ride in his new big boy car seat!

3.  Still trying to figure out why daddy loves this thing they call a "remote" so much...

4. "Look mom!  I learned how to take a photograph of myself, using your IPhone!"

5. open scene:  (mom in kitchen doing the dishes, while Corbin is on the floor playing with his favorite toy)
Corbin crawls off to somewhere in the house.
mom: Corbin where are you?
Corbin: (in his sweet baby jabber) GAH!
mom: Corbin where are you?
Corbin:  GAH!
Mom walks into the master bathroom as Corbin turns, looks, smiles real big and gets down sooo fast and crawls off.  Like he was afraid he knew he wasn't supposed to be doing what he was doing.
Haha.  Funniest moment ever.  Is is silly that I find it sooo hilarious that he plays with the toilet paper?  Some parents would get mad, but I just think it's so funny to watch him get so much amusement out of toilet paper.

6. No make-up kind of day to work.

So these are just some fun photos I've taken lately, that I just haven't posted I guess!  I hope ya'll have a fabulous Tuesday!

my style my way

Style is an ever changing thing, isn't it?
I know for me, it always has been.
I went through that awkward phase of middle school life where I slicked my hair straight back
wore jeans and labeled T-Shirts.
I always felt so lame because all my friends shirts said Aeropostale or Abercrombie, Hollister or American Eagle.
My mom couldn't afford those kinds of clothes for me.
I tried to blend in...
never really did.
I had a few really close friends
and a lot of people knew me, but I wasn't anywhere near "popular status."

Even know my style has seemed to be somewhat unstable.
I have never really known what my style was.
I'd see bloggers do fashion posts, and many comments saying how cute their outfit was
I'd stare at it for several minutes trying to talk myself into thinking that I liked that style...
often times I'd think, "okay, maybe I could grow to like it..."
Then, it hit me.
I don't have to like what other people wear, or I don't have to think that their style should suit me.
The mix match random layer type outfits...I've just never gotten.

So what's my style?
I've never really done any outfit posts, probably because my closet consists of clothes I've had since high school, and I have about six tops and a few pairs of jeans and capris.
That shall change sooon.
Summer shopping trip is coming!
My style fits my personality, I believe.
Here are a few outfits that I've put together, or found that are SO me.
This is my first time sharing a peek at my own personal style. :)

These are just a few looks I love.
The shout ME!
Lace, girly, soft, classy, simple, sweet.
Love them all.

professional blog makeover

Do any of you dear friends know of anybody who designs blog layouts for like cheap? :)  I've always wanted to put a signature look to my blog, and the look I'm going for I just cant figure out all the HTML stuff by myself.  But I don't want to spend major bucks on letting someone else do it.  So if any of you know anybody, please, let me know!

blog for you!

Ok, maybe it's just me, but let me just say something.  Sometimes I feel like I have to blog.  I've read a few articles from bloggers about "how to make your blog grow."  Every.single.one.of.them say to blog on a consistent basis.  They say that you shouldn't skip days of not blogging, unless you take weekends off.  I don't have anything, not one thing, against any of  these bloggers, but I have to disagree with this.  Maybe it's different for those who actually charge for sponsor spots on their blogs, because the people who pay for that spot on that blog want their buttons to be seen.  But this isn't true for everybody.

(why is it every time I watch a scene in a show of a couple kissing I automatically think of how much I looooooooove my husband?)  sorry.tangent

Wow.  Okay, back to what I was saying.  When I got in bed Monday night with my husband, before I fell asleep, I thought, "I didn't blog. I should probably explain why...but wait, I don't have a good excuse.  What will I tell my readers?"  Then I was like, "What am I thinking?!"  Here's to being completely honest.  I don't have to come up with an excuse to not blogging.  I don't owe anybody an explanation.  My blog is a place I come to to just open up with my feelings, thoughts, stories etc.  It's not my business, thank goodness.  It's a place I come to enjoy and inspire and write down things I want to remember.  It's not a weekly newsletter or magazine.  So no, nothing big happened this weekend where I was unable to grab the laptop and blog.  I simply just spent some time with my family.  Such a relaxing weekend!

This is not to announce I won't be blogging as much, because usually I do have things I want to say every day, but sometimes, there are a couple days where I just don't.  and that's okay.  It has just been on my mind lately so I thought I'd put it out there.

And just because I feel like it, here is a shout out to Lizzie over at What I Love About Today.  If you haven't seen her blog before you should go over and check it out.  Not only is she my bestie, but her blog is filled with so much beauty.  I love it.

treasured moment: family

(So today was "crazy hair day" at my work today,
I got many comments saying how cute my hair looked.
I guess that means I failed. ha ha)

So for all those who don't know, I work at a child development center.
I work with children from 5 weeks old anywhere to about 2 years old.
I absolutely love my job.  so much.
Some days are a little bit more crazier than others, but each day has those precious moments
where I think, "I am so lucky I work where I do."
Not only is working with children my passion, but I have some  uhmazing co-workers.
Today as I was playing with a few of the children my thoughts started to trail off.

My baby boy comes with me to work, aka school, on Tuesdays.
My schedule is  5:30am-11:30am Monday-Friday, so not too long of days.
My husband works mornings instead of day shift on Tuesdays, so Corbin gets to come with me.
I am sometimes a teacher in his room, but today I was not.
So as I was playing with some of the children my thoughts wondered off to my sweet boy.
Thinking about him in his classroom and how excited I was to take him home when my shift ended.
I felt so blessed that I was taking him home, and going home to my husband.
I was so thankful that I was a part of the family I was.
Does this make any sense?
I just love my little family so much, and I am so grateful that my family is forever.
